TESOL Arabia

My friend Vance Stevens is at the forefront of leading a worldwide community of teachers to use the web and share what they're doing and learning. The latest is TESOL Arabia (he's in Abu Dhabhi) where he is doing a live webcast this weekend. More information about blogging is here even if you don't participate.

Pictures

A new movement is afoot to organize our picture-collecting ability. We have been somewhat random up to now. The biggest problem is the proliferation of so-called free picture servers, which store pictures but only make them available to certain people. Thus you can see them on your home computer but nobody else can. Or, the server provides it for a while but then takes it away. Now you see it, now you don't.

The foolproof answer is to put it on the SIU server, where we will always have it, but that's laborious and time-intensive.

We are trying to have a CESL account at the Yahoo picture site. It apparently makes pictures available to everyone. Logon cesl052april (cesl052 was taken!!!!!) password: you guessed it! If you have pictures, try it!

John may be wandering around with a digital camera...the best way is to just get started! 051 was really weak on the pictures; the ones we collected, we just couldn't keep. A picture's worth 1000 words; it speaks every language; and we want others to see what we're up to...this can only help us!
